1Confirm the exact truck

We’ll use your Garage selection to prefill what we can. Exact year, trim and drivetrain prevent the wrong cover from appearing.

2What size is your truck bed?

Measure inside the bed from the bulkhead behind the cab to the inside edge of the closed tailgate.

Not sure about the bed length?

Measure with the tailgate closed. Cab style alone is not reliable. If you still aren’t sure, you can keep the VIN with this browser session and ask Tex to help identify the original configuration.

3How will you use the cover?

Pick the closest match. We’ll rank suitable cover styles and explain the tradeoffs.

Truck bed cover buying guide

Which tonneau cover fits your truck and the way you use it?

A useful bed-cover recommendation starts with the exact truck and measured bed length, then accounts for security, full-bed access, daily weather protection and anything already using the bed rails. Our guide ranks verified options and explains the tradeoff instead of treating every cover style as interchangeable.

01

Measure the bed

Measure inside the closed bed from the bulkhead to the inside of the tailgate. Cab style alone is not reliable.

02

Choose the access

Folding and rolling covers expose the bed differently. Match the opening style to cargo, work and towing needs.

03

Set the security level

Hard construction creates a firmer barrier; soft covers prioritize low weight, simplicity and value.

04

Protect shared rail space

Racks, toolboxes, factory rail systems and fifth-wheel hardware can compete with cover clamps and tracks.

Truck bed cover FAQ

Fitment questions that prevent returns

How do I measure my truck bed for a tonneau cover?

With the tailgate closed, measure inside the bed from the bulkhead behind the cab to the inside edge of the tailgate. Use the actual measurement and confirm the exact year, make, model and bed configuration.

Are hard folding covers more secure than soft roll-up covers?

A hard folding cover generally creates a firmer physical barrier when paired with a locked tailgate. A soft roll-up cover is lighter and often more affordable, but the fabric can be cut.

Will a tonneau cover work with a bed rack or toolbox?

Some systems are compatible, but covers, clamps, tracks, racks and toolboxes often need the same rail space. Verify the exact combination before ordering.

Can I keep fifth-wheel or gooseneck access?

Yes with the right cover and opening style, but the cover must clear the hitch, pin box and required operating space. Confirm the complete towing setup.
